A Haven for Tigers and Biodiversity
Kanha National Park, located in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, India, is one of the most celebrated wildlife sanctuaries in the country.
Established in 1955 and later declared a tiger reserve under Project Tiger in 1973, it spans an impressive area of approximately 940 square kilometers (360 square miles)
Kanha National Park is located in the Gondwana region, historically known as the “Land of the Gonds,” and was once ruled by the Gond Dynasty.
The park’s name, “Kanha,” is culturally significant and often associated with Lord Krishna, a major deity in Hinduism, though this connection is more symbolic than directly tied to the park.
